On Reinventing Myself

Welcome back, Julie, it's been a while since we've seen you here. Or, read you here as may be.
Nearly two years, in fact, has past since I last worked on this blog and a lot has changed in that time. I had the opportunity to serve as an editor for one of the best alumni magazines in the industry, the University of Washington's Columns magazine, for example. (www.uwalum.com/columns) We told some great stories during my tenure.
Now, though, I am reinventing myself again and relaunching this blog. Already 2011 has been exciting. I turned 40 this year, made several life changes, and got back to the writing. And that's just for starters.
While FB is grand, not every story needs to be told there. Moving forward, I'll be using this space to tell stories --- in every sense --- instead. Because that, I realize, is how I define myself: as a storyteller. It's what I want from my life: to tell stories. So, part of what you'll find here in the coming months is the celebration of story in every form. I'll largely be celebrating the writing --- be it literary or journalistic --- and inviting you in to the process.
So, here goes. Or, to quote a favorite boss of days long past: "head down, pen moving."
