There's a toothy hole in my kitchen bookshelf today. I've had to migrate the Food Lover's Companion back upstairs to the office, to the little bookshelf by my desk that is also home to my enormous American Heritage Dictionary and my AP Style Guide and my dog-eared Synonym Finder. The dense little book is the Strunk & White of food writing.
It's funny what a welcome little surprise this is. How it reminds me of past lives and lets me look forward to future ones and makes me wonder what stories I'll get to tell in this year ahead.
